July 4th will mark another landmark in the ODI scene, Srilanka have surpassed South Africa's 435 and reached 443 versus minnows Holland. The 435 made by the South Africans was in the second innings though and against world champions Australia in one of the best ever One-Day matches ever to be played.
In reply to the huge score posted by the Lankans the Dutch managed to get 248, which is a pretty decent considering they are extremely new to the cricket scene. Sanath Jayasuriya was the hitman for the Lankans scoring a quick 157 off 104 balls. The Sri Lankan team is etremely upbeat at the moment after a 5-0 thrashing they gave England.
SriLanka won by 195 runs, one of the biggest margins in ODI. |
